Denali is such a superstar and REALLY love and takes care of Alison. Course, I've also taught her well (it was a great compliment from Trudy!) and Trudy's lessons every 2 months help push her up that notch ... but with security and safety.

was an awesome lesson to ride, knowing I'm personally responsible for both of them, training wise.

(It's also hilarious how small 3'3" really is--when someone else is the one jumping it! I look at the video and I go, "Oh, that's a nice friendly jump," but that, uh, is not what I think while cantering down to the fence myself. How cool for the kiddo to have the opportunity to do this stuff and ride such a nice horse at her age!)

I'm so NOT a mare person, but birthing out Denali and having the raising and training of her ... we've definitely created that hard-to-create bond that is esecially tricky with mares. I'm glad I have it though :)

no sound at work but that was probably Trudy cheering her on :) video is of the first time she went through it at 3'3". There's a bunch more if you click through to you tube, including a pathetic stop at a crossbar. Denali's not THAT willing if you dno't ride her straight!! 11 videos in all from yesterday.

was so freakin' sore from PT that at 3am I put on my pain patch after more percocet.... and we didn't even do much yesterday at pt... oi, it's a long painful road ahead... i just better not need a second surgery
